Marshmallow Ladyboy Jesus is back with a bumper June show! Returning as always is your host, writer and comedian Gareth Stack. Joining him will be Dublin standup favourite and Shinoxy founder (the absolutely hilarious) Lucy Moffatt, DU Players Comedy supremos Valerie Lynch & James Belfast (both preparing to delight Edinburgh with their uproarious student comedy). We have up and coming Asian-Irish sensation Sarina Kajani. And finally, a special treat in the form of zinester, author and humorist Boris Belony!
This really is a night unlike any other, where veteran and fresh faced humorists alike push themselves to create smart multimedia and literary comedy for a bright comedy educmacated audience. Don’t miss it.
Next Friday June 10th at 8PM in Twisted Pepper, we present…
Author of Transmorphosis & Other Short Story. We’ll leave the description of this surreal writer and storyteller to the infamous Ross O’Carroll-Kelly – “Franz Kafka meets Flann O’Brien meets John Kennedy Toole. Reads like a collection of your worst cheese nightmares and the essays that persuade primary school teachers to call in social workers. Surreal, hilarious and very, very smart – and then, just when you’re settling into a vein of laughter, unexpectedly, disquietingly, sad and touching. I loved every page.”
Valerie Lynch & James Belfast
Theatre people, what are they like? Find out when these two theatre stalls storm our stage with a brief preview of their muscially comedic edinburgh show. These two Trinity comedy society luminaries can bring an audience to life like a randy Nick Sarkozy in a morgue full of chillin’ beauties.
Here’s their blurb…
“Once upon a time the Earl of Belfast set out for County Cork. After weeks of tracking he caught a musical gypsy, leaving one choice: a two person comedy show. ‘Ireland’s brightest talents’
***** (Milkandcookiestories.com) ‘a winner with the audience’ (entertainment.ie). Winner of RTE Radio 1’s competition ‘Ireland’s Funniest’ x”
Returning after an uproarious performance at MLBJ 10, Lucy Montague-Moffatt is a writer, stand-up comedian and one of Dublin’s female sketch comedy trio ‘Shinoxcy’. She has been writing and performing comedy around Ireland since 2009, including performing an original satirical play by Shinoxcy as part of the 2010 ABSOLUT Fringe. She will be performing in two separate shows for the 3 week Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year, this will more that likely cause insanity and /or death.
Lucy’s other hobbies include hello kitty, cycling around town dangerously and trying her best to ignore the imminent apocalypse.
Sarina Kajani once defeated a multinational child sex trafficking cartel using her left thumb. She also had help from an eccentric 5 year old who constantly exclaimed ‘ I need to wiiizzlllleee!!!’
She now spends her time making cakes, feeding lonely college students in exchange for their love. She’s that desperate for attention. She also has a particular affinity to the word asphyxiate but would never divulge in such an act as that is bold. She rarely abides by the Christian virtue of modesty, but who cares? Bitch be Muslim.
