Absolute pleasure working with Ciaran Reddington (of Powerful Creative Minds) to create the video for his first single ‘The World and Its Sister’. Back in the pre-pandemic world, I made a pair of videos for PCM (whose vocalist Jazzy has gone on to top Irish and UK charts alike). I’ve always been impressed by the authenticity, kindness and energy of the Crumlin four piece. Creating zero budget music videos is always challenging, and frankly these kinds of projects have made up the bulk of the videos I’ve shot over the last seven years. For Ciaran’s first single, I tried to keep things as simple as possible: it’s a single location, single camera performance video, telling the story of a Twitch streamer’s descent into madness. A few days of work in post helped build out the layers of streaming references and effects, but it’s Ciaran’s intense and vulnerable performance that sells the video. Check it out below.
